All Media Downloader (AMD) runs entirely inside the iOS Shortcuts app. No companion apps — share a link from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or any supported platform and AMD saves the media to your iPhone.
This setup guide gets you from zero to your first download in under five minutes.
What you need
- An iPhone on iOS 15 or later (latest iOS recommended)
- A Pro subscription at allmediadownloader.com
- The Shortcuts app (pre-installed on iOS)
- iCloud Drive turned on (Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → iCloud Drive). AMD stores your key at iCloud Drive → Shortcuts → All Media Downloader →
key.txt. If iCloud Drive is off, you will see a location does not exist error — enable iCloud Drive, or edit the shortcut so every path that points to iCloud Drive → Shortcuts uses On My iPhone instead (see If iCloud Drive is off in Step 3).
Step 1 — Subscribe and create your AMD key
- Sign in at allmediadownloader.com and choose Pro ($2/month, $12/year, or $30 lifetime).
- Open your Dashboard and tap Create key.
- Copy the key if you want a backup — it is only shown once. Treat it like a password.
Your key ties downloads to your subscription. If you rotate the key later, the old one stops working right away.
Step 2 — Install the shortcut
- Download the latest All Media Downloader from iCloud.
- Tap Add Shortcut when iOS prompts you.
AMD checks for updates automatically. When a new version is available, the shortcut will prompt you — always install the latest from iCloud.
Step 3 — Save your AMD key
Once the shortcut is installed, save your key on your iPhone:
- Go back to your Dashboard on your iPhone.
- Tap Save in All Media Downloader — this opens the shortcut and saves your key automatically. No copy-paste needed.
Manual fallback: run All Media Downloader once from the Shortcuts app and paste your key when asked.
Your key is stored at iCloud Drive → Shortcuts → All Media Downloader → key.txt. The shortcut reads this file on every run, so you only need to set it up once (or again after creating a new key).
On a Mac or PC, copy the key from your Dashboard and paste it into the shortcut on your iPhone — the Save in All Media Downloader button only works on the device where the shortcut is installed.
File access: if AMD cannot read your key even though key.txt exists, open the shortcut in the Shortcuts app → tap ⓘ → Privacy → turn Allow Access to Files on. See customize the shortcut for details.
If iCloud Drive is off
AMD’s default paths live under iCloud Drive → Shortcuts. If you keep iCloud Drive disabled, edit the shortcut before saving your key:
- Open All Media Downloader in the Shortcuts app → Edit.
- In the settings section at the top, find every path that references iCloud Drive → Shortcuts (key file, download folder, and any other Shortcuts folder paths).
- Change each one to the matching location under On My iPhone — for example On My iPhone → Shortcuts → All Media Downloader →
key.txtfor your key. - Tap Done, then tap Save in All Media Downloader from your Dashboard (or paste your key when the shortcut asks).
Do not change only the key path — if any Shortcuts folder reference still points to iCloud Drive, AMD will keep failing with location does not exist. See how to customize All Media Downloader for more detail.
Step 4 — Download from any supported app
- Open a post, reel, story, or video in a supported app (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
- Tap Share.
- Scroll the share sheet and choose All Media Downloader (you may need to tap More first and enable it).
- Wait for the download to finish. Photos and videos go to your Photos library; audio and other files go to Files → On My iPhone → AMD DOWNLOADS.
That is the entire workflow. Once your key is saved, every download is just Share → All Media Downloader.
Platform-specific guides
After setup, jump to the guide for your platform:
- Download YouTube videos on iPhone
- Download Instagram Reels and Stories
- Download TikTok without watermark
- Download X (Twitter) videos
Tips for a smooth first run
- Keep iCloud Drive on — or change every Shortcuts folder path in the shortcut to On My iPhone before your first download. See If iCloud Drive is off.
- Enable the shortcut in the share sheet — if you do not see AMD, tap Edit Actions or More and add it to your favorites.
- Stay on Wi‑Fi for large videos — AMD resolves media on a server, but the file still downloads to your phone.
- Public content only — AMD works on posts and videos you can view without logging into a special account tier. Private or restricted content may fail.
