Saving Instagram Reels, Stories, and carousel posts on iPhone is awkward with screenshots (low quality) or screen recordings (UI chrome). All Media Downloader lets you share directly from Instagram and get the original media in your Photos library.
Setup (one time)
If you have not already:
- Subscribe at allmediadownloader.com and create your AMD key.
- Install the shortcut from iCloud and paste your key.
- Add All Media Downloader to your Share sheet favorites.
Full steps are in the setup guide.
Download an Instagram Reel
- Open the Reel in Instagram.
- Tap Share (paper plane or three dots → Share).
- Select All Media Downloader.
- The video saves to your Photos library.
Works for Reels from public accounts. Private account content you cannot view will not download.
Download an Instagram Story
Stories expire after 24 hours, so speed matters.
- While viewing the story, tap the Share icon (or the three dots menu on some layouts).
- Choose All Media Downloader.
- Photo stories save as images; video stories save as video — both go to Photos.
You need a shareable story link. If Instagram does not offer Share on a story, that story may not be downloadable through any tool.
Download a feed post (photo or video)
- Open the post.
- Tap the Share icon above the post or use the ⋯ menu → Share.
- Pick All Media Downloader.
Single-image and single-video posts save one file. AMD grabs the highest resolution Instagram exposes for that post.
Download a carousel (multi-photo post)
Carousels are the swipe-through posts with multiple images or videos.
- Open the carousel and navigate to any slide (AMD resolves the full post from the link).
- Share to All Media Downloader the same way as a normal post.
- AMD saves each item in the carousel — you may see multiple files appear in Photos.
If you only need one slide, you can still share from that slide; AMD fetches the items it can resolve from the post metadata.
Where files go
- Photos and videos → Photos library (Recents album)
- Audio (rare on Instagram) → Files → AMD DOWNLOADS
See where downloads are saved for full details.
Common issues
"Cannot download" on a private account AMD only works on content visible to you without special access. Follow the account or ask for a public link.
Share sheet does not show AMD Go to Share → Edit Actions and add All Media Downloader to Favorites.
Carousel only saved one image Update to the latest shortcut from iCloud — older versions may not handle multi-item posts. Retry after updating.
Story share button missing Some story types (polls, quizzes, reshares) are not media downloads. Plain photo/video stories work best.

FAQ
How do I save an Instagram Reel to my Camera Roll?
Open the Reel, tap Share, and select All Media Downloader. The video saves to Photos → Recents automatically.
Can I download Instagram Stories before they disappear?
Yes, if the story has a Share button. Share to AMD while the story is still live — you have up to 24 hours before it expires.
Does this download all images in an Instagram carousel?
Yes. AMD resolves the full carousel from any slide and saves each photo or video it can fetch to Photos.
