Need the audio from a YouTube video or YouTube Music track on your iPhone — without a Mac or desktop converter? All Media Downloader extracts audio from YouTube links and saves files to your Files app, keeping your Camera Roll free of album-art video files.
Before you start
- All Media Downloader from iCloud with Pro + AMD key (setup guide)
- iOS 15+
Extract audio from a YouTube link
- Open the video or track in YouTube or YouTube Music, or paste the link in Safari.
- Tap Share → All Media Downloader.
- Choose audio if your shortcut version prompts for format, or check Files → On My iPhone → AMD DOWNLOADS after the run completes.
Audio files land in AMD DOWNLOADS, not Photos. See where downloads are saved.
YouTube Music tracks
YouTube Music links work the same as regular YouTube URLs. Share from the YouTube Music app or open the track in Safari and use the Share sheet.
Note: DRM-protected or offline-only YouTube Music downloads inside the app cannot be extracted — AMD works on shareable web links only.
Video vs audio — which to pick?
| Goal | Action |
|---|---|
| Save a music video to watch later | Share without choosing audio — saves to Photos |
| Save a song or podcast for offline listening | Choose audio — saves to Files |
| Lecture or talk — audio only | Share and pick audio, or share and find the file in AMD DOWNLOADS |
Tips
- Rename AMD DOWNLOADS in shortcut settings if you prefer a different folder name.
- AirDrop from Files to move tracks to a Mac or iPad.
- Wi‑Fi recommended for long mixes or live recordings.

FAQ
Where does YouTube audio save on iPhone?
Audio extractions save to Files → On My iPhone → AMD DOWNLOADS. They do not appear in the Music app or Photos unless you import them manually.
Can I download YouTube Music to iPhone without a computer?
Yes. Share the track link to All Media Downloader from the YouTube Music app or Safari. You need an active Pro subscription and the shortcut installed.
Is YouTube to MP3 on iPhone legal?
Only download content you have the right to save — your own uploads, Creative Commons media, or content where the rights holder allows offline use. AMD is a tool; you are responsible for how you use it.
